Welcome to the home learning page for Year 2 children at Clapgate.

Welcome to Year 2’s home learning page. 
We would like you to complete one maths lesson, one English lesson, and one foundation subject lesson from the Oak National Academy Website every day.  Please look at the relevant timetable in the purple box below to help you to organise when you should do these activities.
To access the Oak National website please follow the link below, select ‘Lessons’ and then the ‘Schedule’ tab and then select year 2:
If your child is finding the year 2 activities too challenging they can access the year 1 or reception activities by following the links below:
In addition, you may like to have a go at some of the extra activities that can be found under the different subject tabs below. These are optional activities and can be done should you wish to do any extra work.  Another excellent place to look is BBC Bitesize. To access the website please follow the link below, select the ‘Primary’ tab and then select Year 2.

Home Learning Timetable (self-isolating)

If you are at home while your friends are at school, here is a suggested timetable for you to use or you may want to swap it around or use your own ideas.

We don’t want to cram too much in but we also don’t want to get too bored! 

Make use of what you have at home as well 🙂

9.00-9.15  Daily Dough Disco

9.15- 10.00  Reading or Phonics (swap each day)– click on the ‘Reading’ or ‘Phonics’ tabs below.

Have a break. 

10.15 – 11.00 English lesson on Oak National Academy

Have a break – Have something healthy for a snack and try a brain break activity on

11.15 – 12.00  Maths lesson on Oak National Academy

12.00 – 1.15  Lunch time

1.15 – 2.15  Try a lesson on Oak National Academy or try one from the ‘Other Subjects’ tab below.  You can always have a go at some extra maths or writing activities.

2.15 – 2.30 Take a break

2.30 -3.15  Choose a lesson from the tabs below.

DONT FORGET- The ‘PE with Joe Wicks’ videos on YouTube are a great way to break up a busy day of home learning!

Home Learning Timetable (bubble closure)

If at any point our class bubble has to close. This is the timetable that we will be following using Microsoft Teams. 

9.00-9.45  Phonics/Reading session

9.45- 10.00 –  Brain Break 

10.00 – 10.45  Writing Lesson

10.45- 11.00  – Brain Break 

11.00 – 11.45 – Maths lesson 

This will be the end of your morning’s lessons. 

Afternoon – Pick a lesson from the tabs below.  You could end your day with a story from the CBeebies website.
