Remember to visit the Oak Academy to complete all your lessons.

We would also like you to read every day. You can either read the books in your bookbag or you may have a favourite book at home.

You can also have a look at some of the links and comprehensions below. Read through the text or look at the picture and have a go at answering the questions.

Extra Activities:

Click the links below to have a go at some extra comprehension activities. Before you start the questions, pick 2 of the Fantastic lenses and see if you can find examples of these in the text.

Fun Reading Activities!

– Choose your favourite book and write a book review for it.

– Make a bookmark based on your favourite book.

– Look in magazines, newspapers or brochures and highlight any new key vocabulary you have found. Then use a dictionary or online dictionary to find out the meanings of the new words.

– Write a blurb for the book you have read the most recently.

Audio Books

Audio books are great way to sit back and relax. Here is a story we think you might like. Discuss the story with your friends or on the Purple Mash blog using the book talk questions:

What do you like about it?

What don’t you like about it?

Can you make any connections?

Did anything puzzle you?
