Religious Education

Differences are meant not to divide but to enrich.

Religious Education at Clapgate

At Clapgate we follow the Leeds Agreed Syllabus for RE.

This guides us to support and enrich the children’s learning so that they can understand the diversity and commonalities between and within religions. From Reception we learn about Christianity, Islam and other non-religious beliefs. When the children move into Key Stage 2 they also learn about Judaism and Sikhism.

During RE lessons, children are provided with stimulating, nurturing environments that allow for discussion and the sharing of views. They are encouraged to challenge themselves through further research and investigation into different beliefs. RE lessons at Clapgate are taught with sensitivity, respect, and tolerance.
