6NH visited Leeds art gallery recently to take part in a workshop looking at traditional and contemporary art. The workshop was delivered by Amanda Phillips (art education lead). The class made their own sketchbooks using large sheets of paper and lots of careful folding. They used their handmade sketchbooks to create drawings, ideas and reflections as they moved through the different gallery spaces. They used their art detective skills to look for specific clues in some of the contemporary and traditional art. The class particularly enjoyed looking at a piece of contemporary art called M62. They learnt that art can be made from any materials. Finally, they worked collaboratively on a large drawing using a variety of drawing materials. It was a great visit to the gallery and the children really enjoyed seeing and learning about traditional and contemporary art. Well done 6NH!
