Summer 2 Reception – Africa, Diversity Week, Pirates

This half-term we had lots of fun in Reception! We spoke about Pirates and found a treasure map in our garden. We followed the map, which led us to a treasure chest in the outdoor area. Inside the chest, we found gems and other pirate items. We then introduced our new book ‘Pirates Love Underpants’. We had so many hot days and also learned how important it is to stay safe in the sun. We came up with lots of different ways that we can stay safe and cool in warmer weather. We decided to share these tips by making posters, sitting in our new outdoor classroom. It was lovely. We learned about Africa, and we introduced a Ghanaian folktale called ‘Anansi the Spider ’. We helped Anansi create a spiderweb on the carpet and listened to the Anansi myth. We also celebrated Diversity Week and talked about how we are all different and unique, and how amazing this is.⭐️
