On Wednesday 22nd October, our U11’s played at home against Rothwell St Mary’s in their first league game of the season. On a very muddy pitch, Clapgate put in a complete performance against a very stubborn Rothwell St Mary’s team who had already played a couple of game this season.
We ran out 6-2 winners thanks to goals from captain Leo Sephula x3, Freddie Swithernbank, William Avison and Ronnie Crosthwaite.
Player of the game was Archie Allinson for his outstanding defending and ‘Thou Shalt Not Pass’ attitude culminating in a fantastic goal saving tackle at the end of the game.
Very proud of the team’s performance, constant pressing and team work.
A fantastic start. Well done!
