Recently, year 2 visited the Yorkshire Sculpture Park to see sculpture of all different shapes and sizes in a beautiful landscape. Both classes had the opportunity to sit and sketch sculptures as they moved through the park. There was lots of opportunity for discussion and reflection. The children were armed with their sketchbooks and pencils and chose which sculptures they wanted to record using drawings and annotations. The sun came out for us and we had lots of rest stops along the way where they could sit and observe nature and wildlife including sheep, swans, geese, ducks and herons. We had a picnic lunch on the grass and we counted lots of steps by the end of our visit. Well done year 2!
