On Wednesday 8th October, 10 Year 6 children attended the Year 6 Dodgeball tournament organised by Hunslet Rugby Foundation. The team played against 4 different local schools. Clapgate were a focused and tight team from the start- they communicated brilliantly with one another and adjusted their play to suit the situation. Amazing catches to get their teammates back in and incredible throws to get the opposition out as well as some impressive jumps & dodges to avoid getting hit! The team won 3 out of 4 games with the 4th game being a contentious result. The children exhibited admirable sportsmanship — respectfully acknowledging their opponents and accepting the results, even in situations where they believed the outcome was influenced by some unfairness. A huge well done to our Year 6 Dodgeball team!
