Year 2 – PSHE

PSHE – Dreams and Goals

This half term, all children from Years 1-6 have been focusing on Dreams and Goals in their PSHE lessons.

In Year 2, we set ourselves goals and thought about steps to success to achieve these goals.

Lots of children challenged themselves by learning the Macarena dance! Whilst others wanted to learn how to count to 10 in French and Mandarin.  All children learnt the important skill of perseverance when challenges become difficult.

We also worked on identifying challenges when working with others. We focused on the importance of inclusion and helping others that need support.

What The Student Says

"I really liked how we learn what we can achieve and how to make it better".

"I liked learning the macarena dance it was fun!"

What knowledge and skills have been developed?

  • Identified challenges they have achieved and how it made them feel.
  • How to choose a realistic goal and think about how to achieve it.
  • Persevered through a difficult challenge.
  • Recognised wo they can work well with in a group.
  • Work well in a group to create an end product.
  • Learnt how to share successes when working as a team.

What the Teacher says

The children have shown resilience this half term!

It has been wonderful to watch them choose a challenge and work hard to achieve that challenge! We have caught  the infamous macarena dance on video!

Children have been really considerate when thinking about how they can work well with others, but not always.

We enjoyed learning the Dreams and Goals song and what it meant.
