Geography

“The study of geography is more than just memorising places on a map. It’s about understanding the complexity of our world.”

-Barack Obama

Geography at Clapgate

At Clapgate children will receive a high quality Geography education that will encourage them to become curious, inquisitive thinkers. Our curriculum is tailored to ensure children have a thorough understanding of human and physical geography. Children are provided with a stimulating and nurturing environment which allows them to express their thoughts freely. Our geography teaching is inclusive and work is differentiated to ensure every learner can succeed.  Lessons are planned carefully and are rich in encouraging the practice of geographical skills and fieldwork opportunities. The school grounds and local area provide a great space to engage in activities such as orienteering, map work and urbanisation studies. Children will be educated about social responsibility and relevant environmental issues. This will support their understanding of the world and encourage the development of key skills that enable them to become respectful and responsible citizens of the world.
