15 of KS2 children attended the School Gamesmark Cross Country event on Friday 3rd October at Middleton Clearings. On Wednesday 8th October, 10 Year 6 children attended the Year 6 Dodgeball tournament organised by Hunslet Rugby Foundation. The team played against 4 different local schools. Monday 9th-Friday 13th June was our annual Clapgate Sport & Health week. Within the week, classes focused upon the many benefits of exercise, sport and being healthy and how this impacts how we feel physically, mentally, emotionally and socially. Our annual art show was a fabulous success with a variety of art on display including – drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, textiles and printing. Recently, year 2 visited the Yorkshire Sculpture Park to see sculpture of all different shapes and sizes in a beautiful landscape. Both classes had the opportunity to sit and sketch sculptures as they moved through the park. There was lots of opportunity for discussion and reflection.
