Year 5- Outdoor Learning
Last half term, Year 5 had lots of fun during their weekly outdoor learning lessons. 5NP and 5LK now enjoy their outdoor lessons together and this has helped them to develop their social skills. Over this half term, the children explored science, art and practical skills in a hands-on environment. Around the campfire, they investigated changes of state by heating chocolate, eggs, cheese, play dough and wax, observing how materials melted, softened or solidified as temperatures changed. The children also expressed their creativity through outdoor art activities inspired by nature, and applied their design and problem-solving skills by making and testing paper aeroplanes. In addition, they spent time caring for and observing chickens, learning about animal needs and responsibility. The experience combined curiosity, teamwork and real-world learning in an exciting outdoor setting.
